Outschool Class Listing

While I continue to wait for an answer on so many things – my VIPKid application, whether school will be held in person or online, etc – one thing that has progressed is Outschool! My first 3 classes have been approved!

Creating a class is pretty easy, granted you have an idea of what you want to teach 🙂 For me, I knew that I wanted to teach dance classes. I had two camps and one class that I had recently taught that I thought would be good classes to begin with – Unicorn Dance Camp, Princess Dance Camp and Mini Movers. I knew that with a little adjustment they could be perfect!

The process is guided by Outschool. When setting up your classes, you first go to the Teach section, then to Classes. Next, you add a class. It asks you for a title for your class. So I added Unicorn Dance Class.

Next you fill out the specifications for the class. It asks you for a brief summary description of what your class will be. The subject that this class falls under. And if it will be a One time, Multi day or Ongoing class. Outschool suggests that new teachers begin with one time classes in order to begin building your brand. So I took that suggestion and created only one time classes for now.

Next, you add an image that will represent your class. I of course, used a unicorn. If you are artsy, you can create your own image. There is free clip art out there, but please make sure that it is free! A lot of teachers have recommended using CANVA.

Next you set the requirements, such as age, class size, class length and cost.

Finally, you can add additional things parents may need to know, such as supplies, or tech requirements.

Lastly, you click Request Listing, and you wait. For me, I was informed the same day that my listings had been approved! Once approved you can schedule class days and times. And then you’re all set for the learners to enroll!
